Reverend Stan Allaby added a second Sunday morning service. Sunday School and nursery programs were expanded, and the Annual Missions Conference was launched.

The Global Missions Program blossomed, and Sunday School and teenage programs were the largest in the state. It was becoming obvious that the ministries of the church would require more space. The congregation purchased land on Grovers Avenue in Bridgeport. However, many obstacles prevented this property from being developed. The congregation sought the Lord's guidance and, as they finalized building plans, felt God's leading to pursue a move to a location in Fairfield instead. Plans for Grovers Avenue were cancelled.
A sermon delivered by Pastor Allaby in 1966 reinforced a lesson the congregation was being taught about God's Will: "Only He, not we, could build a church. Only He knew the style and location that would be best for us. It was up to us to have faith and trust in God, knowing that His plans and His timetable were perfect."*
